How alerts are counted

What counts as one alert

A watch on one hut: a single night of your itinerary, a date range, or any date. Each counts as one, whatever its length.

How long a window can be

Free alerts watch up to 7 nights, the alert plan up to 90. Ask for more and the alert is not saved; the dialog tells you why.

When an alert stops counting

An alert emails you once, when a night can be booked, then completes. Completed, cancelled and expired alerts no longer count, so the slot is free again.

At the limit

A second free alert is refused with a notice. Nothing is lost and your first alert keeps working, and so do alerts made before these limits.

What an alert does and doesn’t promise

An alert tells you a night looks bookable on the hut’s own system, from a check we show you. We don’t book or hold beds; you book on the hut’s own site.

Some huts publish no bed count, so for them an alert means the hut has beds, not that it has beds for your whole group.
